A regular meeting of the capital city authorities was held on January 15 and led by Governor of the Capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Kh.Nyambaatar. The Mayor gave 28 tasks in the previous meeting, and the implementation rate was 90.4 percent. For example, some functions of public utilities have been transferred to the districts. In this regard, the districts are now fully responsible for the cleaning of public streets, and maintainance of green areas and lighting. Therefore, it was tasked to monitor the implementation regularly. In this context, the Office of the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar organized monitoring in the three areas in the previous week.
Operational lifespan expired 403 buses to be decommissioned
As of today, there are 1017 vehicles are in service in 110 public transport routes. New routes are planned for 1075 vehicles to be served in 74 routes. As part of the renovation of the public transport fleet, 135 of the 600 buses to be imported in Ulaanbaatar city have been received from China's "Yutong Bus" Co. Ltd.
Enterprises and organizations are able to lease these buses by signing the Paid Public Transport Use Agreement with Ulaanbaatar City Development Corporation JSC. Moreover, 403 buses that reached the end of their operational lifespan will be decommissioned this year. In addition, it is necessary to improve the taxi service and increase the number of taxis in daily service.
Debris from the demolition of Urt Tsagaan being transported
The third building of the capital city's property, known as the "Urt Tsagaan" service center, has been entirely demolished. The demolition involved 354 employees and 149 pieces of equipment, and the removal of debris is currently underway. The work completion is at 87 percent. Green areas and parks will be built in the vacated area according to the results of the public survey.
Updated registration of real estate in the capital city to be carried out
At the end of the meeting, the Governor of the Capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Kh.Nyambaatar issued the following tasks:
- To determine and revise the public and private housing areas in the capital city's general land management plan;
- To carry out the updated registration of real estate in the capital city;
- To plan and intensify the implementation of the Law on Waste due to the fact that environmental pollution and degradation caused by waste creates a high amount of air, soil and water pollution;
- To update the route information at bus stations in connection with the re-planning of public transport routes;
- To intensify the monitoring on the cleaning of roads and streets, prevention of slippery conditions, which are the responsibilities assigned to the districts.
