Deputy Governor in charge of the Social Sector, Green Development, and Air and Environmental Pollution O.Nominchimeg met with The Asia Foundation's Country Representative in Ulaanbaatar Mark Koenig and exchanged views on future cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed future cooperation in waste management and social sectors such as child protection, education, and health, and expressed their readiness to suggest new proposals and initiatives and expand cooperation.

The Governor’s Office of the Capital city and the Asia Foundation cooperate in numerous areas, such as decentralization, rapid delivery of public services to citizens, digitalization, and strengthening the capacity of public servants and human resources. In this context, the Urban Governance Project was successfully implemented in 2015-2022. In addition, the Asia Foundation has been implementing the "Books for Asia" program in Mongolia since 1994. Within the framework of the program, this year, about 2,500 books in the fields of medicine, business, economics, literature, children, and cognition were handed over to the Governor’s Office of the Capital City to enrich the book fund of educational institutions and to support the education of all ages. Moreover, the Northeast Asian Mayors' Forum has been jointly organized every two years since 2014.
