This year marks the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the democratic Constitution of Mongolia, the establishment of the local self-governing body in Mongolia, and the 383rd anniversary of the founding of Ulaanbaatar city. On this occasion, the Citizens Representatives Khural /the City Council/ held an honorary session.

The City Council of Ulaanbaatar city has been the executive governing body since 1989, and in 1992, the new constitution of Mongolia stated that "local governance shall be implemented based on combining local self-governance with state administration".

During the honorary session, the local self-governing body’s development history over the past 30 years was presented. Members of the Parliament and Government Secretariat, the Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, the Chairman of the Ulaanbaatar Citizens' Representative Khural, the capital city authorities, Ambassadors to Mongolia, and representatives of international organizations attended the session.
