Head of the Governor's Office of the Capital City I.Baatarkhuu received the delegation led by director of Seoul Dongbu Park Kim In-sug on September 29. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the landscaping of Seoul Street and grove, as well as future projects.
Seoul Street stretches 2.9 km from the State Academic Drama Theater to the Ulaanbaatar Railway Headquarters. In 1996, the capital city’s governor order was issued, and the street was named after the city of Seoul as a symbol of relations and cooperation between the sister cities. Moreover, within the framework of the 2009 Memorandum of Understanding between Ulaanbaatar and Seoul, the Seoul Grove was established in the National Park.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of the Governor's Office of the Capital City highlighted that relations and cooperation between the two cities have expanded and developed in all fields including education, economy, culture, and tourism. “Every city pays great attention to creating an eco-friendly and comfortable environment for citizens. Ulaanbaatar City is implementing many projects in this field, and we are grateful for your visit and paying attention to the landscaping of Seoul Street and Seoul Grove” he added.
Director of Dongbu Park Kim In-sug expressed her gratitude for the capital city's attention to the landscaping of Seoul Street and grove. She said that they will create a comfortable environment, and will build an exercise area for the elderly, while highlighting that it will be a pleasure to cooperate and exchange ideas and experiences.
