A discussion on issues such as the capital city's development policy, landscaping, recreation, gardening and planning, organized by the Ad Hoc Committee on Ulaanbaatar City Development Policy was held on June 4.
"Parliament will draft a resolution to take National Amusement Park under state special needs"
During the meeting, Speaker of the Parliament G.Zandanshatar said, “The National Amusement Park is one of the few parks located in the heart of Ulaanbaatar.
I am pleased that the Mayor is taking measures to turn the amusement park more accessible to the public and to remove fences and build greenery. The Ad Hoc Committee will initiate and draft a resolution and submit it to the State Great Khural. The draft resolution will reflect the issue of taking the National Amusement Park under state special need. This will eliminate the violations in the acquisition of land and create a legal environment for land protection. Citizens of the capital city are well receiving the Mayor's initiatives. The members of the State Great Khural will fully support the green initiative of the members of the Ad hoc committee and the city administration.”
Chief Architect of the Capital City N.Natsagdorj introduced the recreation and green facilities that are planned to be made available in Ulaanbaatar. He said, “We are working to increase green space in the capital city. In addition, as part of the measures to increase public lands, a number of works are being done, such as demolishing garages, and fences. Eighty-five percent of the National Amusement Park will be turned into green space.”
“Green area covers 637.7 hectares of the capital city’s land”
General Manager of Ulaanbaatar D.Ganbold introduced the capital city's landscaping, gardening planning, and demolition of unauthorized garages, and fences in districts. He highlighted, “There are 59 projects to be implemented in 2022. The green area of the capital city covers 637.7 hectares of land. Therefore, artificial lakes and ponds will reduce air and water pollution and dust, and create favorable conditions for greenery and afforestation as humidity increases. We are also working to demolish garages, fences, and objects that obstruct pedestrian traffic.”
