Meeting held with Ambassadors of Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands

Governor of the Capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Kh.Nyambaatar met with non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belgium to Mongolia Bruno Angelet, non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Luxembourg to Mongolia Roland Reiland and non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands to Mongolia André Haspels who presented their Letters of Credence to the President of Mongolia on April 2.

At the beginning of the meeting, Governor of the Capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Kh.Nyambaatar said, "Ulaanbaatar is a relatively young city, established late as Mongolians have a nomadic tradition. According to the first master plan made in 1954, the city of Ulaanbaatar was planned to have a population of 600 thousand, yet today, the capital houses 1.7 million people. This concentration and density is the root cause of many problems such as traffic congestion and air pollution. In the current situation, it is important to increase flood control facilities. Therefore, the capital city expresses its readiness to cooperate with international organizations and foreign partners in infrastructure and other major constructions.”

The Ambassadors were briefed and provided with details about the significant projects underway in Ulaanbaatar, including the progress of the subway construction, its funding sources, and the initiatives being undertaken in the realms of green economy and renewable energy.
