At the plenary session of the State Great Khural, the Draft Law on Reducing Traffic Congestion in Ulaanbaatar City and Providing Housing to Ger Areas was discussed. The draft law was conclusively approved by the votes of 93.2 percent of the members.

During the first discussion at the plenary session of the State Great Khural, the proposals that received the support of the majority were added to the draft law. Moreover, without misshaping the content, policies and principles of the draft law, adjustments were made to the terms, sequence and structure for the final discussion.

The legislation was formulated with the objective of establishing social and legal assurances to uphold citizens' rights to reside in a constitutionally guaranteed healthy and safe environment. Its development is aligned with the execution of the "Vision-2050" long-term development policy of Mongolia, as endorsed by the State Great Khural. The law regulates relations related to the improvement of access to public transportation, the use of parking lots, decentralization, providing housing to ger areas, the reduction and prevention of social and economic impacts caused by traffic congestion and environmental pollution.

The Law on Reducing Traffic Congestion in Ulaanbaatar City and Providing Housing to Ger Areas is comprised of six chapters and 27 articles.
