Governor of the capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar D.Sumiyabazar met with the representatives led by Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council Kim Hyeon-gi. On this occasion, the Mayor was handed over a sincere donation from the citizens of Seoul for the people affected by the flood. Governor of the capital city D. Sumiyabazar conveyed his gratitude and expressed his condolences for the loss of precious human lives and losses to the country's economy and people due to large-scale floods and natural disasters throughout South Korea.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on future cooperation. For example, to overcome and prevent natural disasters, to introduce technological solutions to adapt to the disasters, and reduce traffic congestion, to provide optimal technical solutions for large-capacity vehicles that meet the current conditions of the city, comprehensive development of public transportation, and joint solutions for optimal network planning to conduct research and invite professional experts from South Korea to work in Ulaanbaatar. In addition, the Government of Mongolia has declared 2023-2025 as the "Years to Visit Mongolia". In this regard, the Mayor expressed his readiness to cooperate in the direction of intensifying cooperation in tourism, increasing the flow of tourists, and expanding cooperation in culture and art.
Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council Kim Hyeon-gi expressed his support for cooperation in all aspects. Moreover, It was decided to cooperate in the field of human resources empowerment, including the phased capacity building of the employees of the departments of landscaping, engineering, Water and Sewerage, and the Geodesy and Water Structures.
