Specifically, it was estimated that it is necessary to build service complexes along the road in 69 locations with a distance of 170-250 km. Out of these 69 service complexes and temporary accommodation points, one complex will be 100 percent operational, and work on four complexes is planned to be completed within this year. Moreover, out of a total of 118 camping points, 34 have been established in scenic areas. As part of the "Years to Visit Mongolia" and in order to prevent soil pollution, it was determined that there are 2523 substandard pit latrines in the tourist areas of 21 provinces. Thus, officials mentioned that in 2022-2023, 1613 pit latrines were demolished and a total of 502 eco-toilets and dry technology sanitary facilities were built according to the standards of Pit toilets and cesspools MNS5924:2015.
Governor of the capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar D.Sumiyabazar said, “Ulaanbaatar city is the core economic pillar of Mongolia. Therefore, in accordance with the “Years to Visit Mongolia" initiated by the Prime Minister, summer and winter tourism will be intensively developed and policies for the development of each sector will be implemented on a wider scale than ever before. Moreover, large investments should be extensively attracted to Ulaanbaatar to solve the city’s traffic congestion and air pollution. In addition, there is a need to develop tourism areas around the city, and to sort out the problems of inappropriate land allocation and unauthorized construction of fences and buildings.”
"Ingredients, advantages, and usage instructions of domestically produced products should be written on the product labels in many languages. It seems like a small problem, but it is the thing that confuses tourists the most.”, he further mentioned.
The peak period in the tourism industry is between May and October, and 71 percent of tourists come during this period. According to the survey on winter tourism, 10.2 percent come in November-December and 18.8 percent in January-April.
