It was agreed to sign a Letter of Intent for Cooperation between the cities of Ulaanbaatar and Montevideo on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Uruguay. In this regard, First Deputy Governor in charge of Economy and Infrastructure J.Sandagsuren received Non-resident Ambassador of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay to Mongolia Fernando Lugris, and exchanged views on establishing relations.

Deputy Governor J.Sandagsuren expressed pleasure over the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Uruguay which is being marked this year and emphasized the broad possibilities of cooperation within the framework of the Letter of Intent for cooperation.

Mr. Ambassador noted that for the past 25 years, the governments of the two countries have worked closely together. "Although the two countries are located on different continents, they have many common features in many fields, such as agriculture, population, and peacekeeping activities" he added.

The sides voiced their willingness in further consolidating development of relations and cooperation and agreed to strengthen friendly relations between municipality organizations and cooperate in city management, education, sports, tourism, and many other fields.
