The capital city authorities held their regular meeting on October 3. At the previous meeting, the Governor of the capital city gave tasks in 10 areas, and 82 percent of them have been completed. For instance, as part of the tasks for the upcoming winter, 92 percent of the 1106 works in 27 directions have been completed. Also, 2719 tons of salt and 2160 tons of substances were stored to prevent slippery roads. Additionally, 500 tons of salt and 2000 tons of substances will be stored in near future and 35 special vehicles will be used for spraying salt and substances.
A total of 200 blocks of prefabricated apartments were insulated in 2017-2022 with the capital city and local funds. However, 344 apartments do not meet the requirements. Out of the decision to rebuild 170 of them, project implementers have been selected for 97 apartments, and 21 apartments for 2703 households have been put into operation. Moreover, 26 health institutions underwent major and regular repairs. 14 schools and kindergartens have been renovated.
REFINED COAL BRIQUETTES BEING SOLD AT 473 SALES POINTS
Head of the Air Pollution Reduction Department of the Capital city Ts.Ganbold said, "Preparations for the winter season have been ensured. 120,000 tons of refined coal briquettes have been stored and sold at 473 sales points. By October 15, 650 more sales points will be opened. He continued, "800-900 tons of refined coal briquettes are being sold per day."
While introducing the standards for the refined briquette coals, Head of the Specialized Inspection Agency of the Capital City S.Davaasuren said, "Professional inspection organizations are regularly analyzing its standard. In terms of quality, the relevant standards are being maintained. The humidity of the improved briquette was 6.8 last year. The maximum this year is 3.8. The quality of the briquette is very good."
The Mayor tasked the relevant officials to keep the monitoring at the highest level since it is a problem related to the health and safety of more than 200 thousand citizens in Ger areas.
At the end of the meeting, the Capital Governor and Ulaanbaatar City Governor D.Sumiyabazar gave the following duties and tasks:
• To complete the road and engineering repair and modernization works that are being done with the city’s budget investment, carry out high-quality restoration and repair of excavated holes, damaged roads, and footpaths, and monitor their implementation.
•To intensify the work of increasing the sales points for the refined coal briquettes, and ensure that sales points are not disrupted.
• To increase the number of traffic controllers, to follow traffic rules and regulations, to take civilized participation in traffic, and to take joint measures.
• To increase access to public transport in the morning and evening, pay attention to the quality of service, perform regular cleaning services, and monitor public transport operations and technical safety.
• Due to the commencement of major projects such as LRT and ring highways, related departments have been tasked to ensure proper coordination.
