Governor of the capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar D.Sumiyabazar received a delegation led by Iran's Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Mehdi Baradaran.
Mayor D.Sumiyabazar expressed satisfaction with the expansion of cooperation in trade and humanitarianism since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1971. He also expressed his sincere desire to intensively develop relations between the sides in all possible fields of cooperation.
"Developing Ulaanbaatar into a citizen-friendly, green development-oriented and smart city is the priority goal of ours. The government is paying special attention to the development of Ulaanbaatar city, providing the necessary support. Thus, the temporary committee on Ulaanbaatar's development policy was established”, emphasized the Governor.
For his part, Deputy Minister Mohammad Mehdi Baradaran highlighted the common issues such as traffic congestion and air pollution that cities around the world face. Emphasizing that the solution to these problems is the investment, he proposed to establish a joint committee and expressed readiness to cooperate with Ulaanbaatar city in many areas such as mining, road, construction, public transport, information technology and digital systems. He then underscored the ample opportunities for the expansion of bilateral cooperation.
The Mayor pledged to support the proposal to establish the committee between the parties and expressed willingness to attract investments from Iran and to cooperate with the country’s experienced and capable public and private enterprises.
The Mayor expressed his readiness to cooperate in the above fields and expand cooperation. The sides agreed to promptly exchange information and explore opportunities for cooperation.
