Governor of the Capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Kh.Nyambaatar met with the representatives of United Kingdom led by the Minister of State at the Department for Business and Trade and Minister of State responsible for the Investment Security Unit at the Cabinet Office of United Kingdom Nusrat Ghani. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the works to be implemented in the near future and cooperation.

Mayor Kh.Nyambaatar said, "In Ulaanbaatar, where 500-600 thousand people were initially planned to live, about 1.7 million people live now. Due to this, the city faces many problems such as air pollution and traffic congestion. Therefore, in order to solve these problems, the Preliminary Draft Law on Reducing Traffic Congestion in Ulaanbaatar City and Providing Housing to Ger Areas was developed and submitted to the government. With the approval of the law, it will be possible to solve the problems such as air pollution and traffic congestion by redevelopment of ger areas. In this context, we are planning to take further measures."

For his part, Minister Nusrat Ghani said, “Congratulations on your appointment as Mayor. United Kingdom has a lot of experience in public transport, research and feasibility studies on this sector. Therefore, it is quite possible to cooperate in this field and in the areas of reducing air pollution and traffic congestion, and redevelopment of ger areas, as well as offering additional sources of finance.”

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed that it would be pleasant to exchange views on future work and opportunities for cooperation.
