The City Landscaping Department is carrying out maintenance of green areas, landscaping of streets and whitewashing and shaping of ornamental trees. The department is responsible for the daily maintenance and landscaping of 52.9 hectares of area in 49 streets in the capital city.

Maintenance and cleaning works of the green area started on April 1. Since then, the City Landscaping Department has planted 45,000 trees in 12 streets of the capital city and seeded new and existing lawns in 80,000 square meters of 15 streets. In addition, 5,600 poplars were shaped, and about 180,000 flowers were planted in 29 locations.

This is the third time that greenery is being maintained and shaped ahead of the national holiday. The works are done 2-3 times a year, depending on the growth of trees.

N.Magsar, Head of the Green Building Department of the City Landscaping Department, emphasized that the department consists of 13 engineers and technicians, 114 specialized gardeners, and 30 drivers of special purpose and garbage trucks. He added, “In accordance with the order of the Capital City Governor, we are cooperating in the landscaping and rehabilitation of the vacated area. Within this framework, the fence of the Bogd Khaan palace museum was demolished and 2840 ornamental trees were planted in the area. In the near future, we will cooperate in cleaning, maintenance and landscaping of the vacated garage”.
