Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar D.Sumiyabazar held a meeting with the delegation led by the Regional Director for East Asia and Pacific at the World Bank Benoît Bosquet.

During the meeting, the Mayor expressed his gratitude to the World Bank for being a reliable partner of Ulaanbaatar, which has made a valuable contribution to reducing air pollution and resolving traffic congestion in the capital city. He noted the work process to establish high-tech industrial and technology parks and world-class light industrial eco-park to replace imports, and expressed his willingness to cooperate on the establishment of “Emeelt-eco-industrial park”. The establishment of the light industry park is expected to provide the basic infrastructure for the development of the satellite city. Moreover, it has significance to reduce the concentration of the urban population, reduce road congestion, reduce soil and water pollution, and build a dedicated treatment plant.

Regional Director Benoît Bosquet discussed the implementation of ongoing projects with capital city officials and highlighted the importance of the Emeelt region.
